today, as i lie here, waiting for dawn to break
i hear the songs of birds, loud and clear
tomorrow will be another day altogether
i fear the disappearance of my universe.
created we have, a jungle of concrete
taking away the birds, trees, the very air
the face of mother earth has been scarred
faster travel have taken away from us
the beauty and safety of a green universe
a handful have treasured what nature has gifted
but power has chopped up our lifelines
theres development for us, but creatures wild
no place to go now have come into our lives
natural habitats destroyed to build for us
now its all tumbling down, fear taking over.
i see a tunnel of light within a tunnel
which leaves me thinking what lies at the end
do we cross over with our loved one
or do we now part ways and in sorrow weep?
the daybreak has set my ears abuzz
each sound so precious, im thankful for all
in prayer i bend my head, with folded hands
i beg for forgiveness and safety for all.
deliver us all, please from this disease
and teach us to live again in harmonious peace.
